As New York Fashion Week comes to a close, the media is buzzing about one shiny, glittery makeup trend -- edgy looks inspired by HBO's series, Euphoria.
The series about Gen Z teens starring Zendaya as Ru "sparked a beauty revolution" on the NYFW runways this year, according to WWD's story, ‘Euphoria’ Is NYFW’s Biggest Beauty Inspiration.
Ulla Johnson's show featured models wearing acid-green eyeshadow, while Area's models wore rhinestone face accessories. Shown above is makeup artist Jen Myles' look for CDLM, which Myles calls, "grunge overnight glitter" on her Instagram post.
CDLM is a new fashion line by Chris Peters -- and the name is an acronym for Cueva de las Manos, which means "cave of the hands," referring to the handwork that goes into each collection, Refinery29 reports.
Euphoria's Makeup Artist, Doniella Davy
Vogue covered the glitter makeup trend back in August with the story, How Euphoria’s Lead Makeup Artist Sparked a Gen-Z Beauty Movement.
Euphoria's makeup artist is Doniella Davy, and one of her looks for the character Jules, Ru's best friend, is shown above.
Davy's Instagram post explains how she created Jules' look using Kryolan's gold foil secured with lash glue, and the brand's glitter on the brows. Jules is also wearing eyeshadow by Colourpop Cosmetics, highlighter in Confetti by Fenty Beauty, and rose gold liquid eyeliner by Too Faced Cosmetics on her face.
Davy tells Vogue about her glam-rock inspired makeup looks that she creates for the show, saying, "I’ve been stalking Gen Z for a couple of years, sort of admiring it online...as an artist, I put my own twist on the Gen Z aesthetic..."
