At one time, combining a luxe look with sustainable packaging was a challenge. Beauty brands seem to have figured out both can coincide -- and suppliers are offering a multitude of innovative options.
Kelsen is one example. The new haircare brand looks luxe -- and is "green." The initial launch last spring featured three high-performing products -- Pomade, in a jar; Shampoo & Body Wash, in a tube; and Hair Conditioner, in a tube.
The packaging is recyclable. The line uses glass jars and squeeze tubes are made with 85% plant-based sugarcane. The luxe caps contain biodegradable and compostable wood composite.
Kelsen also launched a Travel Kit that includes mini packaging, and a luxe bag.
The line is formulated with its "Marine Performance Blend" - organic kelp, sea holly, and sea rock fennel, sustainably harvested from the world’s coasts. The line's signature scent is natural chypre cedar, created from organic essential oils.
Kelsen is a unisex brand created by Created by pro skaters Curren Caples and Sean Malto -- with pro-surfers Jack Freestone and Mikey February. It is top-rated by The Good Face Project, cruelty-free, and micro-plastic free.
Stay tuned -- the brand will be featured in an upcoming story.
