As Maesa heads for further global growth, they have announced the appointment of Marc Rey—a former Shiseido and Coty executive—to their Board. He will serve as an independent non-executive director, effective March 2021. Maesa is known as a global beauty brand incubator that supplies leading retailers and beauty companies around the world.
Rey has a long track record of innovation and growth in prestige beauty. Most recently, he was CEO and chief growth officer of Shiseido Americas, which boasts a portfolio of brands including Nars, BareMinerals, Laura Mercier and Drunk Elephant. Prior to joining Shiseido in 2015, he was senior vice president of Coty North America, and president of IDC at L’Oréal USA.
According to Maesa, as a member of the Board, Rey will leverage his 30 years of success and experience in digitalization and internationalization, as well as focus on M&A and innovation.
Gianni Pieraccioni, CEO of Maesa, said, “I am glad to welcome Marc to Maesa. His wealth of expertise will be a great asset to us, and I look forward to his expert advice to take Maesa into its next stage of growth as a global beauty supplier and incubator.”
Julien Saada, founder and chairman of Maesa, said, “We are very pleased that Marc has joined us. Marc has worked with some of the most well-known global consumer brands throughout his career, and his knowledge will be key as we continue to evolve Maesa’s strategy and vision.”
