MakeUp in Paris marks its 10th anniversary this year, and has celebratory events planned for the show on June 20 and 21 at the Carrousel du Louvre.
“Creativity, passion and service are the three words that drive our daily thoughts and actions. 2019 will be no stranger to our motto; we are fully committed to our audiences,” says Sandra Maguarian, MakeUp in’s co-founder and show director.
The beauty industry has grown as well. “When we created the very first MakeUp in Paris, in 2010, our ambition was to help the global makeup industry grow to exceptional levels. The market did not fail us when it came to bringing new opportunities—global makeup sales grew 35% from 2010 to 2018,” says Maguarian.
Last year the show hit a new record with more than 4,000 visitors, including 1,255 international attendees from 27 countries. Exhibiting packaging suppliers this year include Albéa, Baralan, Cosmogen, HCT Europe, Lumson, Samhwa and Taiki,.
Each year, the show welcomes beauty industry executives in marketing, package development, design, and R&D. Many of the largest brands will be represented this year, including Estée Lauder, L’Oréal, LVMH, Procter & Gamble and more.
New Branding
Several changes are rolling out to the show this year. “2019 is a year of changes, in our corporate identity,” Maguarian says, “to better convey the right balance between our spirit, our energy and the dynamism of the beauty world.” She explains, “Each of our shows now has its own color, representing its unique market.”
The colors adorn a lipstick “swish” on each of the websites’ home pages, for each location. Paris is keeping red, which matches the MakeUp in logo; New York, pink; Los Angeles, green; Seoul, navy; Shanghai, blue; and SaoPaulo is mustard yellow.
Attending the Show
MakeUp in Paris is the only B2B event dedicated solely to color cosmetics, including formulations and packaging. Skincare also now has a strong presence.
This year’s visitors will have access to networking opportunities among brand owners, manufacturers, suppliers, influencers, and makeup professionals.
It takes place 10 am - 6 pm at the Carrousel du Louvre, 99 rue de Rivoli, 75001 Paris, on June 20-21, 2019.
