JM: What is Procos' specialty?
SW: We live packaging!
Reactivity, integrity, quality, speed to market, a proven and recognized expertise and a lean business model with on-shore manufacturing options allow us to fully support each brand’s specific needs worldwide. Whether it be a small niche brand or a major international player, Procos will always accompany the brands through the different stages from the initial brief to the final launch.
JM: What demand led to Procos opening a U.S. office? What does this mean as far as supply chain, time to market?
SW: The creation of the U.S. entity and opening of our New York sales office is part of our CEO’s Leander Kritikos development strategy and is the natural next step to enhance our global presence by complementing the group’s network of sales offices already established in the EU, China and now The Americas. Our goal is to understand and fully support the brands locally.
In terms of supply chain, our global manufacturing footprint as well as warehouses in the EU, China and the U.S. enabled us to navigate through the numerous challenges due to the Covid-19 pandemic with production transfers and on-site warehousing. We also offer handling our clients’ logistics and have an online order system, so connected stores, small shops and other offices may order their packaging needs via our portal.
JM: Is there a sustainability factor that you practice?
SW: Absolutely, we all live on this Earth and want to preserve its resources as long as possible. Therefore, sustainability is not only important to us, but has been for years a key element of our strategy. This is now re-enforced by our clients’ strong sustainable development goals. As of today, all our papers are FSC-certified, we can use soy-based inks and water-based glues and offer entirely compostable packaging. We are committed to designing and embedding sustainability into our packaging to deliver products that perform well for consumers and the environment.
JM: We’d love to hear about an innovative package Procos completed and what it shows regarding your company’s capabilities?
SW: We all know sustainability and Innovations drive each other. Our e-com and retail folding nested boxes “Yoga Light” are a perfect example of innovative sustainable solutions that enhance the gifting experience. These are a set of folding nested boxes with a shipping box made of 100% recycled corrugated board and FSC-certified Kraft paper. The Yoga Light inner boxes use 100% PCW materials, no magnets, no stickers, no glues and have approximately 20% reduced weight, reducing inbound/outbound shipping costs and CO2 emissions. The boxes are delivered flat, save space in stores and are easy to assemble. These boxes are creating a luxurious user-friendly “wow” effect gifting experience while caring for sustainability and the durability of our planet.
