Here, Mario Lopez, General Manager North America, speaks with Beauty Packaging’s Jamie Matusow about the company’s impressive strengths—“the most comprehensive industrial equipment in North America, including the latest and most advanced decoration technologies, such as lacquering, silk-screening, hot-stamping, pad printing, gluing, labeling, and assembling.”
What does 2024 hold for the Ecovadis-Platinum recognized company? Lopez says Verescence North America is set to reach new heights in terms of innovation, quality, and service. They will showcase some of their innovations at Luxe Pack New York, on May 8-9.
Jamie Matusow: Can you give us a quick overview of Verescence North America?
Mario Lopez: Verescence North America is the leading manufacturer of luxury glass packaging in North America. With two plants in Georgia and a sales office in New York, we have a rich history dating back to 1996. Our unwavering commitment to excellence has allowed us to consistently demonstrate the most complete operational capability in glass and decoration.
JM: How are you approaching 2024?
ML: In 2024, Verescence North America is set to reach new heights. We have made significant investments in our two plants to align with our CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) and competitive roadmap. As a result, the Verescence North America team can offer our customers the most comprehensive industrial equipment in North America, including the latest and most advanced decoration technologies, such as lacquering, silk-screening, hot-stamping, pad printing, gluing, labeling, and assembling.
JM: What are the company’s strengths in such a context?
ML: At Verescence North America, we have all the strengths of Verescence Group at a local level in terms of innovation, quality, and service.
Our strong industrial agility allows us to meet the demands of the biggest beauty groups for large production volumes, as well as indie brands, thanks to a range of stock bottles.
Our CSR strategy is highly advanced. In 2024, Verescence North America received the Platinum medal from the ESG rating agency EcoVadis for the fourth consecutive year, distinguishing us among the top 1% of the world’s most advanced companies.
JM: What is your vision for the U.S. beauty market in the coming years? What are the main challenges for the future?
ML: The beauty market in the United States has a bright future, driven by ongoing trends towards eco-friendliness, quality, and value. This shift in consumer preference requires a network of vendors who partner in shorter and more local supply chains with environmentally sustainable strategies, creating value for consumers.
JM: What are your innovation projects based on? What exciting products can we expect to see from Verescence at Luxe Pack NY this year?
ML: We base our innovation strategy on four pillars: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and Replace. We are thrilled to showcase all of our made-in-USA capabilities at the upcoming Luxe Pack NY event. Our latest work includes lightweight glass packaging with 20% post-consumer recycled glass (PCR), our refillable fragrance and skincare jar solutions such as the new Twirl Premium Jar, and our new decoration techniques creating 3D effects, along with our latest inside spray colors that are fully compatible with fragrances.
