As anticipation and excitement fills the air for this year’s FiFi Awards and presentation, The Fragrance Foundation has announced a roster of well-known celebrities who will add sizzle to the evening. Mary J. Blige, Saffron Burrows, 50 Cent, Randy Jackson, Kim Kardashian, Molly Sims and Sofia Vergara—several with scents of their own—will all attend the event.
Also present will be well-known fashion designer Michael Kors, who will be honored with the Hall of Fame Award. The Hall of Fame Award is voted on by The Foundation’s board of directors and is presented to an individual who has brought extraordinary ingenuity, creativity, dedication and inner resources to bear, not only to their company’s success but to the fragrance industry as a whole.
“Who exemplifies these criteria better than the brilliant, funny and daring Michael Kors?” observes Rochelle Bloom, president of The Fragrance Foundation. In Kors’ own words: “Fragrance is probably the most intimate thing I will ever create. It’s my fingerprint, so I am deeply honored that The Fragrance Foundation has chosen to recognize me.”
The Fragrance Foundation also announced that its board has chosen multi-platinum recording star Usher as Male Celebrity Fragrance of the Year. Bloom comments “Usher has introduced a hugely successful, sophisticated and gentlemanly wardrobe of fragrances to a new generation of consumers who love his music and his style.”
Usher says, “I consider fragrance to be one of the most important tools of engagement for seduction! My fragrances are all about what you do with confidence and how you make an impact on the lives of those around you.”
The 2010 FiFi Awards and Ceremony will take place Thursday, June 10 at The Downtown Armory, Lexington Avenue & 26th Street, New York City. Tickets and further information: [email protected] and (212) 647 1828.
