Thierry Mugler Parfums has extended its fragrance portfolio with three new scents for summer 2011. They are Alien Sunessence Amber Gold Edition, Angel Sunessence Silver Ocean Edition and A*Men Pure Havane.
As its name suggests, the limited Alien Sunessence Amber Gold was inspired by the sun and aims to help consumers reveal their "inner sun goddess." It is rolling out in European travel retail in April/May.
The juice, composed by IFF’s Dominique Ropion, is a fresh, floral amber. It opens on notes of kiwi, building to a heart of vanilla and Stanhope orchids. The base features the original Alien’s wood-amber combination.
The signature Alien flacon has been updated with subtle shades of gold and amber, which complement the pink juice within. Alien Sunessence Amber Gold Edition will be available as a non-refillable 60ml, priced in travel retail at around €45.60.
Mugler’s flagship Angel franchise has also been updated for summer with the limited-edition Silver Ocean incarnation. The third in the Angel Sunessence series, it was inspired by the early morning light reflecting on the sea. The scent is rolling out now in European travel retail.
The juice, composed by Givaudan’s Aurélian Guichard, is described as a sparkling, oceanic and sensual edt. The top note of kumquat gives way to a heart of sea salt blossom, atop a base of patchouli and vanilla. The signature Angel star-shaped flacon sports an aquatic blue/green colour-scheme.
Angel Sunessence Silver Ocean Edition Light Eau de Toilette is available as a non-refillable 50ml, priced in travel retail at around €45.60.
Also, for male consumers, Mugler has updated it’s A*Men fragrance with a version that pays tribute to "the delights of Havana." In 2008 the brand paid homage to coffee with its A*Men Pure Coffee version, and followed this with a tribute to whisky in the form of A*Men Pure Malt in 2009.
A*Men Pure Havane constitutes an olfactory tribute to the art of the cigar; consequently the original juice has been enhanced with subtle notes of spiced oriental tobacco, in three distinct “layers." The first features fresh tobacco leaves, the second a honeyed tobacco chord and the third woody notes of patchouli and bitter cacao. The fragrance was composed by Givaudan’s Jacques Huclier.
The original A*Men flask-like flacon has been reworked in a tobacco-coloured gum, to echo the "Colorado Maduro" dark brown shade of finely wrapped spiced cigars. The emblematic sculpted star sports a new, warm honey-yellow tone.
A*Men Pure Havane began rolling out in European travel retail in April, priced at around €56.
