Juan Mateu, director of new innovation at Jeen International, espoused the benefits of formulating skin care products and color cosmetics with Jeesperse Cold Process Waxes during a technical session on Thursday, June 30.
All items in the 11-product line enhance textures and offer improved stability and thickening properties.
"It's a beautiful technology," insisted Mateu. "You can see real differences in feel and texture."
Formulators will also see real differences in their bottom as well, due to the cost savings associated with the Cold Process Waxes. Traditional emulsion manufacturing is a laborious process requiring two mixing vessels and heat. But if you don't heat the emulsion, you don't need to cool it and if you don't have to pump water in and out of a vessel, you can reduce water consumption. The technology also reduces manufacturing time.
"Once you go cold, you'll never want to use a hot plate again," Mateu told the audience.
