The Cosmetics Industry Buyers and Suppliers (CIBS) organization celebrates its remarkable 66th year of existence in 2014, and in the spirit of helping connect those in the packaging industry, felt is was time to refresh the group's logotype and overall look. (CIBS is a nonprofit, professional organization, which encompasses the entire packaging spectrum of the fragrance and beauty industry.)
To get started, CIBS called in Drew Lanza, principal, Syntax NYC, to put together a design brief for the contest. Here, he talks with Laura Carey, president, CIBS, about how he put his intensive design background to work in order to structure the design brief for an appropriate new logo to mark the impressive anniversary.
