On May 3rd, 2014, the Professional Beauty Industry lost an icon, Scruples co-founder Francis Joseph (Frank) Liguori. He was 84 years old.
Liguori was involved in BBSI Board of Directors, The Cosmetology Advancement Committee and The Cosmetology Resource Committee, and always wanted to help advance the industry in any way he could.
Liguori grew up in the Bronx, New York, and always had a passion for cars. He began his career in beauty at LaMaur, Inc., rising through the ranks to become the VP of its salon division.
In 1983, Liguori left the company to begin his own, and founded Scruples Professional Salon Productswith his good friend and business partner Jack Storey.
The many relationships the duo had built in the Professional Beauty Industry served as the foundation to grow Scruples to the successful company it is today.
He is survived by his brother Ralph (Jane) Liguori; children: Toni Liguori, Frank Liguori; Tracy Liguori Lubeley, and Mia Liguori (Dan) McHugh; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Chessie Liguori, sister Helen Klos and parents Carmine and Molly Liguori.
