L’Oreal has launched the em Michelle Phan cosmetics brand on Amazon.com. The brand is featured on the e-tailer’s Luxury Beauty Store site.
In an article published on 7/16/2014 in Women’s Wear Daily, Carol Hamilton, president of L’Oreal’s Luxe division, told Pete Born that Amazon, with its 200 million customers, is the “place to be” when it comes to Internet shopping. She is quoted as saying: “The reach of Amazon trumps any other reach,” and she praised its “prowess in the digital channel.” Born also says that she predicts opening the store on Amazon will drive traffic to Phan’s own site.
Michelle Phan is a vlogger made famous on YouTube, who began posting videos in 2007 – including the ‘Lady Gaga Bad Romance Look,’ a how-to that attracted 40.4 million views at last count, in August 2013. BTW, she also inked a deal to create her own television network.
