Direct sales company, Thirty-One Gifts, is partnering with World Vision to celebrate Giving Tuesday on December 2nd. The company will be donating 3,100 Hope Kits to women and girls in need in the U.S.
' Giving Tuesday' is in its 3rd year - the day began as a grass-roots movement, the charitable answer to the consumerism of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Now the day dedicated to giving has evolved into a global campaign powered by over 13,000 partners.
The donations made on this day will help combat poverty in 100 countries where World Vision works, and will also help encourage a woman or girl in the U.S. to get back on her feet.
The Hope Kits that are being donated are filled with essential hygiene supplies such as a toothbrush, shampoo, hairbrush, soap - and a personalized note of encouragement.
"For women and girls escaping abuse and addiction, these Hope Kits are much more than a beautiful tote filled with essential supplies," explains Deborah Durham, World Vision's kit initiatives director. "They are tangible proof that someone cares for and believes in them, which is why when kits are distributed they are often met with tears of joy."
World Vision encourages consumers to participate by hosting a 'Hope Kit' event, by partnering with your church, school or any organization.
This is World Vision's third year as a 'Giving Tuesday' partner. To find ways to help, visit WorldVision.org or call 1-888-511-6588.
