SheaMoisture acted as the official hair sponsor of the Tracy Reese Fall/Winter 2015 Collection at New York Fashion Week this Sunday, February 15th, 2015. Hairstylist Bok-Hee used SheaMoisture products to create the runway looks that complemented Tracy's collection.
"We're so excited to partner with SheaMoisture this season for our runway show. We wanted to create a look for the modern 'urban warrior' and the SheaMoisture products were integral to helping us craft the dramatic knots that complemented the collection and accessories perfectly," said Reese.
The linear, severe ponytail, shown above, was one dramatic look from the show. "I wanted to challenge what was expected when it came to the hair. The SheaMoisture Tahitian Noni & Monoi Smooth & Repair and Coconut & Hibiscus Curl & Shine collections gave me the ability to create a look that had both shine and structure, plus was versatile enough to work on all of the models' hair," shared Bok-Hee.
Reese debuted her collection to a packed house at ArtBeam Studios. It was inspired by the era of women's empowerment, and included reds, ebony blacks and cassava whites - with innovative prints inspired by traditional African motifs, which were flattened and re-scaled. There was also a nod to 70's tailoring, and details that included macro zippers, chains, faux fur, fringe and beading.
"Fashion enhances a woman's inner beauty, which is our utmost mission at SheaMoisture," says founder and CEO Richelieu Dennis. "Combining forces with an innovative partner like Tracy, who possesses such a passionate view of a woman's style and strength, is the perfect fit for our brand because she understands our vision for a better way to beautiful."
