Hain Celestial has announced that three of its sunscreen brands are being recognized by the Environmental Working Group (EWG) - and listed a s"safe." Alba Botanica, Earth's Best and JASON Sunscreens have all made the cut, and are featured in EWG's 2015 Guide to Sunscreens.
"Being recognized by the Environmental Working Group is a true testament to our commitment to producing safe, yet effective, personal care products for the entire family," said Julie Marchant-Houle, General Manager, Personal Care Division of The Hain Celestial Group. "We are very proud to once again appear on their annual list of recommended sunscreens."
The EWG Sunscreen Guide helps provide consumers with the information they need to make safe, educated decisions about their sunscreen choices. This year, in the ninth annual edition, the organization found that 80% of the 1,700 products examined offer inadequate sun protection or use worrisome ingredients.
All Hain Celestial sunscreens are formulated without oxybenzone, PABA, nano-technology, Vitamin A, artificial colors, parabens, sodium lauryl/laureth sulfate, petrolatum, artificial colors or phthalates.
These three Hain Celestial brands - and six products - have been singled out by the EWG:
Alba Botanica
Alba Botanica's personal care products are made with 100% vegetarian ingredients and never undergo animal testing. EWG recommended these products, from Alba Botanica's Very Emollient line - Sunscreen Sport Mineral SPF 45; Mineral Sunscreen Kids SPF 30; Mineral Sunscreen Fragrance Free SPF 30; and Mineral Sunscreen Facial SPF 20.
Earth's Best
Earth's Best personal care products are specially formulated to cater to the needs of babies' delicate skin. EWG recommended Earth's Best Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30.
JASON
JASON has been a trusted name for over 50 years in the natural category, and has a wide range of gentle and effective personal care products. Recommended by the EWG: JASON Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30.
