MyChelle Dermaceuticals (MyChelle), a Colorado-based natural skin care company, is motivating consumers to protect their skin year-round by raising awareness on sun safety issues. The company is a key supporter of the non-profit Environmental Working Group, engaged as a member of its Sun Safety Coalition and a proud partner in its national "Practice Smart Sun" campaign.
MyChelle says its sunscreens are some of the top rated by the EWG based on their multi-benefit, mineral formulations containing an exclusive blend of zinc oxide and titanium dioxide.
"When shopping for sunscreen, the safest for the family are those offering broad-spectrum coverage and formulated with non-nano minerals that provide an invisible, albeit effective, physical layer of skin protection," says Kimberly Heathman, CMO, MyChelle Dermaceuticals.
Because not all sunscreens are created equal or offer the same high level of protection, MyChelle encourages consumers to consult the EWG's annual Guide to Sunscreens, which grades approximately 700 sunscreens and SPF-rated moisturizers on safety and truth in advertising.
MyChelle is also committed to distributing products as good for nature as for skin. A study by Environmental Health Perspectives revealed that four common sunscreen ingredients—Oxybenzone, Butylparaben, Oxtinoxate, and 4-methylbenzylidene camphor—are dangerous to fragile coral reefs. The brand's award-winning sunscreens are biodegradable and made without ingredients that endanger these diverse ecosystems.
