Unilever is celebrating the news that its Dry Sprays are the most awarded personal care and packaging innovation of the year.
Unilever introduced its new Dry Spray Antiperspirants in the U.S. last year. The innovative spray technology is a part of the packaging for five Unilever brands - Degree Men, Degree Women, Dove, Dove Men+Care, and AXE.
Together, these brands have won 20 awards in 2015. Dry Sprays were the most awarded Antiperspirant/Deodorant format by nationally circulated magazines receiving industry beauty and grooming awards from magazines including Allure, Ebony, Seventeen, GQ and Men's Health.
Consumers apparently agree. Unilever says more than 7.3 million American households have tried Dry Sprays.
Behind the Innovation
Unilever leveraged its decades of research in deodorants and antiperspirants to create the lightweight formulation that the Dry Spray package requires. Its packaging team developed the softer spray system, accoridng to Unilever.
The benefit for users is how the formulation is "instantly dry" the moment it hits the skin. Unilever Dry Sprays are available in 24 distinctive fragrances across its five personal care brands.
The company is also promoting its brands - and innovatove packaging - with the hashtag, #TryDry on social media.
