If you’re tired of the usual floral, woodsy or spicy fragrances available, Xyrena, an innovative, cruelty-free and vegan LA perfumery, has released three new signature fragrances that may be more up your alley. Dubbed “Virtual Reality Fragrances,” each features a familiar scent—although perhaps not an expected one. Dark Ride is described as evocative of a theme park ride. Factory Fresh offers the scent of new shoes, and Xyrena 66 is reminiscent of a gas station.
According to Xyrena, blending unconventional notes delivers highly sought after sensory experiences that were previously unavailable to consumers.
Killian Wells, Xyrena’s founder and perfumer, says: "There are several common scents that people (including myself) love, but are unsafe for extended exposure or impossible to use as a personal fragrance. Not unlike virtual reality, we're creating olfactory simulations that evoke real world consciousness."
These avant-garde “virtual reality” releases mark Xyrena’s bold foray into fragrances without celebrity collaboration. Each fragrance is available in both extrait de parfum or Vibe Spray (for room & body) form. All three unisex fragrances were formulated by Wells.

Dark Ride: A realistic interpretation of water ride staples like Pirates of the Caribbean, Jurassic Park and Splash Mountain. For years, perfume and theme park enthusiasts alike have searched for fragrances that accidentally smell similar to water rides.
