LISA is a new mobile application - and the company says it is the first - to match consumers with beauty service providers, which LISA calls Artists, in real-time.
Currently, LISA features profiles of more than 2,000 licensed and certified Artists based in Chicago - and has plans to expand nationwide in the next 18 months. LISA Artists include hair stylists, makeup artists, massage therapists, barbers, and skin technicians.
The App's users have the ability to schedule beauty-on-demand services, within the hour. There is also a double rating system, and users can post reviews anonymously.
Development
A long list of independent LISA Artists spent a year helping to develop this first-of-its-kind open marketplace, the company says. The service allows Artists to set their own prices and set up meeting locations with users, through the App's geo-specific locator.
The company's founder and CEO is Robert Weil Richmond, along with founding artist, and wife, Lisa Nation. Nation began her career as a model at 13, became a cosmotologist at 19, and has provided hair and makeup services for photo shoots. Nation also provides hair and makeup services to her more than 100 beauty clients in Chicago.
Richmond says he created LISA after years of watching his wife, and other industry artists, struggle to manage and profit from their services. “Artists need and deserve more control over what they do and how they do it...our team has created a platform that enables artists to better manage their business, make more money from their extraordinary skills and gain more freedom and flexibility in their work.”
