Sun Shake, the newest scent in the Jil Sander Sun fragrance line, looks like a tropical cocktail, and features a new visual innovation. Inside the clear bottle, the juice separates into two colors— yellow and pink. The concept was meant to engage the consumer, as the user is encouraged to shake the bottle to blend the two tones into a single coral shade. After mixing, the colors then return to their separate states in less than 90 seconds.
According to Coty’s R&D team, “The idea of a bi-phase fragrance with sunny colors that mix and separate in a very quick, light way was perfect for a fun and festive summer scent. Bi-phase technology already exists in skin care and we had the idea to apply it to fragrance for a new, very visual effect. Sun Shake was the perfect product to use as the first-ever bi-phase fragrance.”
The bi-phase effect is purely visual, while the fragrance is the same in both parts: citrus top notes of bergamot, mandarin and lemon peel, a heart of pink grapefruit zest and frangipani and a base of heliotrope, woods and musk.
The fragrance is available in travel retail locations across Europe.
