KFC has launched an edible nail polish - and by edible, it means you can lick your nails after applying the polish. And it's not even a joke, even if it is part of a marketing campaign run by
Ogilvy & Mather Group in Hong Kong.
KFC worked with McCormick and Company, which creates the spice blends for the chain's fried chicken, to make sure the polish tasted like the real thing. It was made in two colors and flavors - a nude beige, which is Original Flavor; and fire engine red, which is Hot & Spicy, of course.
Ogilvy creative director John Koay told AdWeek, "The recipe for our edible nail polish is unique and was specifically designed to hold the flavor, but to also dry with a glossy coat similar to normal nail polish...This campaign is designed to be intriguing and fun to increase excitement around the KFC brand in Hong Kong."
It is not being mass produced, yet - but KFC in Hong Kong is currently aksing its customers which flavor they would prefer to wear on their nails.
