La Roche-Posay is revealing a new edition of the 'My UV Patch' at the Viva Technology Paris show this week. It has kid-friendly features.
La Roche-Posay's My UV Patch is the first connected patch that improves sun safer behavior and helps minimize sun burns. The UV patch features a unique transparent adhesive that contains photosensitive dyes that change color when exposed to UV rays. When combined with the app, the patch indicates varying levels of sun exposure.
The technology includes a smart algorithm that takes into account personalized data (like geolocation, phototype of skin tone, hair and eye color) to provide helpful sun safe tips, such as when to reapply sun screen, seek shade, etc.
L'Oréal, with many of its brands, are at VivaTech this week, June 15th - 17th, to present the new edition of the patch -- plus more innovations alongside emerging start-ups and other global businesses. VivaTech is the world's largest organization for tech-lovers, innovators, entrepreneurs and pioneers of the future.
The Kid-Friendly Reboot
The new edition of My UV Patch is designed to be of greater use to parents to help manage kids' sun exposure.
The app features a more streamlined user experience, with simpler and easier to read home page data. It also makes it easier to manage and track each family member's sun exposure with simplified visual and textual feedback, as well as at-a-glance updates. The patch also has a feature called "smart reminders," to detect when the user is indoors, which avoids unnecessary notifications.
For ultimate engagement of the youngest users, the app is now an addictive game. An augmented reality avatar interacts with user, and each scan is rewarded with points. Points earned will unlock prizes, which keeps kids interested in using it.
