After 28 years of honoring cosmetic companies for their contribution to the "Art of Packaging," Pratt Institute is recognizing a supplier, Groupe Pochet, for their centuries of excellence in “making packaging designers’ creations a reality.” The award will be presented at their annual gala, which will take place this year on May 22, at The University Club of New York. The event, which benefits the Marc Rosen Scholarship and Education Fund for Packaging by Design at Pratt, will begin with a 6:30pm cocktail reception followed by an 8pm dinner.
Irene Gosset, executive board president of Groupe Pochet, and Tristan Farabet, managing director, will accept the award.
“The Groupe Pochet epitomizes the ethic of the dinner theme. Their two main companies: Pochet and Qualipac enable designers to create beautiful and innovative packaging for fragrance, makeup and skin care by developing new techniques and manufacturing methods that gives them the tools for creation” said Marc Rosen.
“We are deeply honored and humbled to be the first supplier selected to receive the Pratt Institute Art of Packaging Award” said Gosset and Farabet. “It is a strong acknowledgement of the contribution of the entire packaging industry to the cosmetic and beauty world” as well as being a recognition of our Groupe’s multi-material expertise, technical capabilities and almost a four-century history of providing the most prestigious and sophisticated products to our customers. The Groupe Pochet is a longtime supporter of this prestigious scholarship and glamorous evening and it is with great enthusiasm that we are looking forward to enjoying the future art and designs of the Pratt institute students who will be distinguished at the event.”
The Marc Rosen Scholarship Fund for Packaging is the world’s only scholarship for master’s degree-level students looking to pursue careers in cosmetics and packaging design. In 2015, the fund established two full tuition scholarships which is very rare among design institutions. To date, it has raised more than $ 3.5 million for scholarships and provided scholarships to more than 100 Pratt Students, many of whom have become industry leaders.
