Benefit is crossing the border this spring to debut its first Canadian 'Glam up & away' automated kiosk at Calgary International Airport. The brand currently has 52 Glam up & away locations in 34 U.S. airports and cities.
The 'Glam up & away' kiosks are designed to look like vintage pink beauty buses, complete with cheeky slogans and Benefit's famous mannequins. They dispense bestselling products, including Benefit's Brow Collection, they're real! mascara and the POREfessional pore minimizing primer -- plus, minis and travel-friendly makeup kits.
Jean-Andre Rougeot, chief executive officer, Benefit Cosmetics, says, "High-traffic airports are the next beauty battleground for prestige cosmetic brands. Benefit has been successful as the pioneer in selective makeup self-serve vending machines in U.S. airports and is excited to expand this concept into Canada."
Deny DiFelice, general manager, Benefit Cosmetics Canada, adds, "Benefit is known for its product innovations and fun, feminine approach to beauty. We always say that laughter is the best cosmetic, and this Kiosk brings that aspect of our brand to life in an oversized, tangible way – making travelers stop, smile, and easily glam up before a flight. We are thrilled to be offering this in Canada."
Benefit first partnered with ZoomSystems in 2013 to create Glam up & away. ZoomSystems is the global leader in high-end automated retail. "With this ground-breaking partnership, ZoomSystems and Benefit Cosmetics are giving travelers on-the-go access to the beauty products they need and love," says Pamela Strazdas, vice president, Customer Success, ZoomSystems.
The first Canadian kiosk will be located in Calgary Airport's Air Canada (Concourse C) and soon the Transborder Terminal (Concourse E), offering passengers access to this exciting new point of sale. Plans for further expansion across Canada are currently in progress.
