RuPaul, host of the reality television show and competition on VH-1, RuPaul's Drag Race, is launching a makeup collection for Mally Beauty. We can expect to see it on shelves February 2019.
Mally Beauty made the official announcement yesterday on Instagram -- posting, "#MallyXRuPaul More info coming soon!" The partnership was brokered by Los Angeles-based agency, ACI Licensing.
RuPaul has a history with the beauty industry -- he was the first drag queen ever featured in a major campaign, and it was for MAC Cosmetics (of course!) back in 1994.
More About the Collaboration
The Mally x RuPaul collection will include ten to twelve specially created SKUs. RuPaul will work with Mally on product concepts, formulations, and marketing for the line.
Brand founder and celebrity makeup artist, Mally Roncal, says, “I respect, adore and worship RuPaul personally and professionally. Ru has always stayed true to who he is and unapologetically puts himself out there. He exemplifies self-acceptance and has inspired and taught millions of people to love themselves. This seamlessly blends with Mally Beauty’s mantra: What makes you different makes you beautiful! I feel blessed to have the honor of working with RuPaul and have him connected to my brand.”
Brian Robinson, president of Mally Beauty, adds, “RuPaul is the ideal choice for this collaboration with Mally considering his values and personality. His magnetic charisma and authenticity mirrors Mally’s and together they should prove to be unstoppable.”
