The International Beauty Industry, also known as IBI, has announced the opening of a new global hair and makeup competition -- the IBI Awards.

The IBI Awards will celebrate the work of all beauty artisans working behind-the-scenes, all over the world. The competition is now open for entry to both professional and amateur hair and makeup artists in over 90 specialized categories, from Bridal to Special Effects.

A representative for the IBI says, "To us, it's always been about people. Our focus is the artistry and design these professionals execute during their day at the office and their dedication to perfecting the craft." 

Submissions, judging and announcements all happen on IBI's new innovative online platform.

The winners will take home a luxe, hand-crafted, and personalized IBI Award Statuette, shown above. It was designed by the same company that makes legendary awards, including the Golden Globes, Emmys, MTV awards, and People's Choice Awards, the organization says.
