The Meitu Magic Mirror will be available for shoppers to experience at 22 DFS stores in 16 locations, globally -- for the next year. DFS is a leading luxury travel retailer that carries over 700 brands at its 420 boutiques on four continents.
The launch marks the first time the Meitu Magic Mirror is launching overseas. It will be in stores in Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, Indonesia, Japan, Australia, United Arab Emirates and the United States.
What It Is
The Meitu Magic Mirror offers virtual makeup and intelligent makeup recommendation services.
When using it, customers are able to see their desired makeup style applied directly to their face, just as if they were standing in front of a mirror. The effect is true-to-life and product colors and textures are accurately displayed.
How It Works
The benefits? The company says the mirror will "drastically lower the time shoppers spend trying out products, while preventing sanitary concerns."
For consumers, it makes shopping -- and finding their favorite products -- simple. After using the mirror, shoppers can scan a QR Code to save their favorite products on their phone, and create a shopping list that can be shown to sales associates. Photos taken during the experience can also be directly shared with friends or on social media.
For retailers and beauty brands, there are even more benefits. The mirror helps to better understand consumers and their preferences based on real-time data, so brands and retailers can create more accurate product recommendations. The data collected from each individual location can be integrated, optimizing the overall operations and aiding in the development of new sales strategies.
More To Come
Aside from base functions like virtual makeup sampling and facial feature analysis, the Meitu Magic Mirror will soon offer even more diverse functions like skin assessment and the connecting of online and offline data. This will bring even more innovative possibilities to the cosmetics & skin care industry.
