Nurture Hospitality Group (NHG), in an exclusive partnership with Envision Plastics, which is a division of Consolidated Container Company, has made the first-ever bathroom amenities from 'OceanBound' plastics.
'OceanBound' plastics, NHG's trademarked term, carry an "nOcean" symbol on each bottle and tube. The containers are made using discarded plastics that are collected in Haiti, and repurposed by NHG in North America.
Sean Fallmann, president and CEO, Consolidated Container Company, says, "The guest amenities can reach millions of people who will learn the benefits of keeping plastic out of our oceans as well as supporting those less fortunate communities and third world regions where the plastic is collected. Our partnership will not only create significant exposure to the ocean plastic crisis but most importantly, contribute in part to the solution."
NHG, headquartered in Las Vegas, says it is founded on the principles of 'We Care' and "Sharing Your Values" -- and has a mission to help prevent plastics from entering our oceans. The company is a vision of the owners of JYPESA, the leading guest amenity company in Mexico and many South American countries.
Carlos Lopez, president of NHG and JYPESA Amenities, says, "Not only do our 'nOcean' guest amenity liquids keep plastics from entering our oceans, but by using beach collection plastics, we are reducing the amount of non-renewable fossil fuels we take from the earth to produce plastics."
He continues, "It is our hope that NHG and our nOcean plastics will wake up our industry and create a paradigm shift within our industry. By 2050 scientists are projecting that if we don't stop the flow of plastics into our oceans there could be more plastic in the oceans by weight than fish. Fish that ingest these plastic particles and find their way onto our dinner plates and into our bodies and those of our children."
