McDonough Innovation, William McDonough + Partners and MBDC have announced that William McDonough has been named by Fortune Magazine as one of the World's 50 Greatest Leaders. McDonough was ranked at Number 24.
According to a statement from McDonough’s companies, “Fortune noted his leadership in advancing green architecture, originating and articulating the sustainable product design movement in a Circular Economy, and his current work on global carbon management including packaging and plastics solutions.”
McDonough began and continues his professional career in architecture which includes the design of major corporate projects including Ford, Gap, NASA and Nike - icons in the sustainability movement. The design concepts articulated in his seminal co-authored book Cradle to Cradle: Remaking the Way We Make Things (2002) provide the foundation for the global discussion on sustainability and the Circular Economy.
