Take a look at Nars Cosmetics' first-ever signature fragrance, launched last week -- Audacious. The launch comes just in time to celebrate the brand's 25th anniversary this year.
The bold, statement-making bottle is a good fit for the fragrance's name. Like a minimalist sculpture, the black bottle doesn't appear to have a neck when its cap is on - and it seems to 'float' over its clear heavyweight base.
The unusual half-moon shaped cap seems to be balanced, flat side up, on top of the round flacon.
The black box is just as striking, with a black "drip" down the front.
Nars states, "Designed as an abstract study of contrasts, top notes of White Frangipani and smoke of incense harmonize with Tiare flower and Sandalwood to arouse an aura that is uniquely minimal, modern, and unexpected. Light meets dark. Sensuality meets individuality. An eau to expression."
The top notes are white Frangipani and smoke of incense; middle notes are Tiare flower, Ylang Ylang essential oil, and Sandalwood; and the base is white cedar essential oil, and white musk.
The smoky floral fragrance was developed by perfumer Olivia Giacobetti.
