In its first retail partnership, Glossier, the darling pink-tinged DTC beauty brand of Millennials and others, enters temporary pop-up shops in seven Nordstrom stores, including the new Nordstrom flagship location in Manhattan, from December 3 through Feb. 16, 2020. The six other Glossier spaces will be at Nordstrom locations in Seattle, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Washington, D.C., and Santa Anita, CA. The department store’s “Pop In @ Nordstrom” concept rotates in a new brand every few weeks.
While Glossier offers a wide range of products, at Nordstrom, they will be selling only their “Glossier You” fragrance, which launched in October 2017. It is one of the brand’s leading products on Glossier.com.
“Fragrance is an extremely personal category — one that people understandably prefer to discover in person — and department stores are the largest channel for fragrance, making up nearly a quarter of all U.S. fragrance sales,” Glossier founder and CEO Emily Weiss told CNBC.
Glossier has also operated its own pop-up shops in cities including Boston; Austin, TX; Miami; and London, and has two permanent locations—one in Manhattan and one in Los Angeles.
