Milk Makeup—whose most recent shareholder is Seoul-based Amorepacific—has named Tim Coolican, the former president of L’Oréal Paris USA, as its new CEO.
Coolican joins Milk Makeup after almost 16 years with the world’s largest beauty company, where he held executive level positions across multiple L’Oréal brands within the Consumer Products Division. His experience spans several international markets including Canada, France, South Asia Pacific, the UK & Ireland and the United States.
Prior to his executive role at L’Oréal Paris USA, Coolican served as general manager of Consumer Products for South Asia Pacific and before that, as general manager of Maybelline, Garnier and Essie for the UK & Ireland.
“We are thrilled to have Tim join the team at Milk Makeup. He brings deep, global experience in brand building through digital-first initiatives that grow awareness and cultural impact,” said Mazdack Rassi, cofounder of Milk Makeup. “With his leadership, we look forward to strategically entering new markets and expanding the Milk Makeup community globally.”
“I am very proud to be joining the Milk family and I strongly believe that Milk Makeup can be a leading global brand and a positive force in our society,” says Coolican. “In just four years, Milk Makeup has built a powerful, genuine connection with its community and a reputation as one of the coolest, most exciting brands in the industry.
“There is a unique recipe behind the brand’s explosive entry into the market that also positions it for long term sustained growth: a distinctive DNA stemming from Milk Studios’ 25-year heritage as a cultural innovator and content creator, an unwavering commitment to diversity, inclusion, self-expression and social responsibility and a proven ability to bring disruptive innovation that is clean, vegan, cruelty-free and easy to use. I look forward to sharing Milk Makeup’s important core values and innovative products with the next generation of beauty enthusiasts.”
Amorepacific’s investment in Milk will help the brand enter the South Korean marketplace. "Amorepacific will provide full support for its entrance into the Korean market and others in the future,” says Bae Dong-hyun, president of Amorepacific Group.
Currently, Milk offers over 80 products through exclusive retailers, including in Sephora in the U.S., Canada, Spain, Germany, Denmark, and Sweden, and Cult Beauty in the U.K. Milk Makeup is also available in the U.S. via the brand’s ecommerce site, www.milkmakeup.com.
