DoTerra is introducing new sustainable shipping solutions for its North America business. Customers will begin to see the newly designed and more eco-friendly shipping packages over the next few months.
Changes include replacing plastic bubble wrap and air pillows with paper options; using shipping boxes made from sustainable forestry that contain less corrugate and include more recycled materials; and printing with soy-based ink.
Corey Lindley, president and founding executive, DoTerra, says, "We are innovative in how we protect the environment through Co-Impact Sourcing, which places the good of the environment over the company's bottom line. We have a responsibility to care for the resources we have been given and continue to actively investigate and act on opportunities to improve our environmental stewardship. These sustainable shipping improvements are yet another step in our journey of fulfilling our commitment to the environment."
Educating Consumers on Recycling -- Especially Amber Glass
DoTerra's best-selling essential oil products are in brown and/or amber glass bottles, which can complicate the recycling stream when mixed with clear glass.
Helping consumers do their part, DoTerra added a new tool as part of its Source To You recycling guide on its website.
The site features posts on how to properly recycle or upcycle essential oil bottles, supplement bottles and packaging. Now, in the "helping the environment" section of the Source To You site, just enter your zip code to find the nearest drop-off locations for brown and amber glass bottles, in the U.S.
