'90s-Inspired Packaging & Makeup Colors
Milani Cosmetics states, "Salt-N-Pepa were involved in every facet of the collaboration, ensuring the resulting shades, textures and products are authentic reflections of their signature look."
The makeup line includes two different CD-shaped eye/face palettes with twelve eye shadow colors, plus an illuminating champagne highlighter; The 'Push It' Lip Kit, with red lip liner and lipstick; and the 'Shoop' Lip Kit, with a nude lip liner and matte lipstick. Both Lip Kits are named after song lyrics.
The bold makeup colors are "pigmented, and playful," the brand says, stating, "The collection revives the bold and graphic images of Salt-N-Pepa wearing their celebrated eight ball jackets, as captured by legendary photographer, Janet Beekman." This image is featured on the packaging.
Sandra Denton comments, "Makeup has always been a form of self-expression for us. I love to experiment and play with different looks and have been a long-time Milani makeup user. My mother and sisters also use the brand so this partnership took things full circle."
Cheryl James says, "Milani's message of diversity and inclusivity really resonated with us. It was extremely important for us to create products that represent us and are accessible to our fan base."
The limited edition collection is launching today on Ulta's website and at Milani Cosmetics -- before a roll-out to Ulta stores on March 15th.
