Farouk Systems has announced it is now manufacturing of FDA-approved hand sanitizers.
Dr. Farouk Shami, founder and chairman of the popular hair care company that makes the CHI and BioSilk brands, explains in the video below that he wanted to do his part to help during the coronavirus pandemic.
The company will donate $1 million worth of its CHI Organic Gardens Moisturizing Hand Sanitizer to the City of Houston and they have already donated to the City of Tomball, TX.
Shami says he is increasing production of its new hand sanitizer to meet demands and help hospitals, hairdressers, salons and consumers have access to an FDA-approved product that contains high levels of alcohol.
Shami comments, "As a nation, we are being challenged by a world-wide pandemic. It is our responsibility as Americans, business professionals and human beings to do everything we can to help with supplying America with vital products, equipment and supplies necessary to help fight this virus. Our company and manufacturing facility are equipped to step up in any way we can to help our fellow Americans maintain some sort of protection against COVID-19 with the proper hand sanitizers. We wish you all to remain safe and healthy. May God bless all of you."

The FDA-Approved Formula
The FDA-approved "recipe" for hand sanitizer requires a formula to contain at least 60-65% alcohol to be effective against coronavirus.
Farouk Systems' CHI Organic Gardens Moisturizing Hand Sanitizer and BioSilk Moisturizing Hand Sanitizer with Soothing Aloe Vera both contain 77% by volume natural denatured alcohol, plus Aloe Leaf Extract, glycerin, and a lemon-citrus fragrance.
The organic aloe vera used for both formulas is grown at the CHI Organic Gardens. The hand sanitizers are packaged in four bottle sizes, 25oz, 12oz, 6oz and 2oz.
The company is also working on production of two more hand sanitizers made with hydrogen peroxide, alcohol, and glycerin -- plus, an antibacterial hand soap.
Orders are being accepted and will be filled on a first come first serve basis.
