MAC Cosmetics, recently featured as our Beauty Company of the Year, created its Viva Glam Fund, and product line, in 1994 as a community response to a different pandemic -- HIV and AIDS. Today, the MAC Viva Glam Fund is a part of the Estee Lauder Companies Charitable Foundation, and remains committed to helping those in need around the world -- especially during the current COVID-19 crisis.
Through a recent $10 million dollar donation, the MAC Viva Glam Fund is helping local organizations that are providing essential healthcare services to vulnerable communities affected by COVID-19 around the world.
The brand is asking consumers to help. With every purchase of a VIVA GLAM Lipstick, 100% of the selling price will continue to support those who are most at risk during this crisis.
"Three iconic shades empower you to make an instant impact," MAC states. The three shades are Viva Glam I, an intense brownish blue-red with a matte finish; Viva Glam II, a creamy subdued pinkish-beige mauve with a satin finish; and Viva Glam III, a muted brownish-plum with a matte finish.
The colors are shown above -- and the lipstick packaging features a metalized hot pink inner barrel.
Local Organizations Making a Global Impact
The local organizations that are using MAC Viva Glam's donation include:
- Doctors Without Borders, (photo above) which is deploying healthcare workers around the world to support hospitals, help care for patients, and reinforce prevention control actions in Northern Italy.
- Project Angel Food, which is is hiring chefs and restaurant workers who are out of work due to COVID-19 to cook and prepare tailored meals for high-risk individuals.
