Escentric Molecules has unveiled its latest fragrance—Escentric 05. According to the brand, this warm and woody scent with a resinous pine note “is an abstraction of summer on a Mediterranean island.”
“With Escentric 05 I wanted to create a different kind of summer fragrance. Instead of the usual aqueous notes, I was inspired by walking up from the sea on a hot afternoon through dry aromatic Mediterranean herbs and trees,” explained Geza Schoen, master perfumer.
The formula for the fragrance is driven by the molecule Cashmeran, which was created in a lab at IFF in the late 1970s. Cashmeran “combines a cocooning, musky softness with dry, aromatic woodiness, and a sweet and resinous pine note.” Additional notes in the fragrance include fig, bergamot, orange, green jasmine bud, cypress and citrus, among others.
The Packaging
“Escentric Molecules 05 is like a radiant summer’s day. We took that feeling and brought it into the design for the packaging, refracting the idea of an oceanic summer through our favorite lens of ‘art and chemistry,’" commented Paul White, creative director. “So what you get is summer light scattered into tiny particles and scintillants that play together in a visual rhythm of marine blues and acid greens.”
