The board of directors at BillerudKorsnäs has appointed Christoph Michalski as the new president and CEO of the company. He succeeds Lennart Holm, who has been acting president and CEO since November 2019. Michalski will assume his new position November 1, 2020.
Since 2015, Michalski has served as the CEO and executive director of Vinda International Holding Ltd, an Asian producer of tissue and hygiene products publicly listed on the Hong Kong stock exchange. Prior to this, he held various senior executive positions within the SCA group. He also has experience from the FMCG sector working for Unilever and Fonterra.
“It is with great pleasure [that] we can present Christoph Michalski as the new president and CEO of BillerudKorsnäs”, says Jan Åström, chairman of the board. “Christoph is a strong leader and experienced CEO from the forest products industry, with a track record of leading transformational journeys towards customer and innovation focus in a global context. His international experience is hard to match, and with his proven ability to create shareholder value through profitable growth, I am convinced that Christoph is a leader that can continue and accelerate the strategic journey of BillerudKorsnäs to secure long-term value creation,” added Åström. “I also want to take this opportunity to thank Lennart Holm for a very well-executed assignment as acting CEO,” said Åström.
