Alice Chang, founder and CEO, Perfect Corp., says, “As beauty brands continue to adapt to the ‘new normal’ of beauty retail, including in-store face mask requirements, it’s essential to embrace beauty tech innovation to provide a safe, touchless shopping experience that beauty consumers are expecting."
Chang continues, says, “Our new non-touch virtual makeup try-on solutions will help beauty brands to build their in-store shopping experience around digital interaction with consumers by delivering on virtual, touchless makeovers, while also complying with strict safety and hygiene standards.”
Highlights of the non-touch features that retailers can choose from:
- Gesture control: There are eight simple hand gestures with visual hints to fully navigate the virtual try-on experience. Consumers can also easily obtain detailed information about the products they’ve tried on by taking a photo and scanning the QR code.
- Voice activation: All commands can be activated via voice navigation during virtual try-on and customers can select different products or categories by saying corresponding words and numbers. Similar to gesture control, shoppers can easily snap a photo and scan the QR code with their phone to get more details.
- Face mask detection: To comply with the current in-store face mask requirements, the AR virtual makeup try-on technology has been enhanced to accurately detect whether consumers are wearing masks and apply virtual makeup and looks around the mask area. Customers can safely keep their masks on during the in-store virtual try-on experience.
- Virtual lipstick arm swatch: Consumers can try on multiple lipstick shades and textures even if they are wearing a face mask. This new feature will virtually apply a set of lipstick shades on a user’s arm via digital color swatch technology, so that consumers can have a side-by-side comparison of various lipstick shades in one session.
