Ashland Inc. won a prestigious CEW Beauty Award during the NYSCC At Home Live Week of Beauty. Its Mineral-based Sun Stick – SPF 50 was revealed as the winner of the 2020 CEW Supplier’s Award: Ingredients & Formulation during the virtual celebration on September 30.
Ashland was one of six finalists that were selected from more than 40 submissions that were reviewed and voted upon by a curated panel of judges that included leading beauty and personal care brands including members of the NYSCC Scientific Advisory Committee.
This CEW Beauty Award category, sponsored New York Society of Cosmetic Chemists (NYSCC), recognizes the role that ingredients, formulation and new technology plays in successful product launches.
Other Finalists
The other CEW Supplier Award finalists were: BASF Corporation: Rambuvital; Cargill Beauty for FiberDesign Sensation; Croda Inc. for Solaveil XTP-2; Elementis Specialty for Bentone(r) Luxe Natural Formulation Enabler; and Grant Industries Inc.: Gransense TC-8X.
“Despite a year full of such uncertainty and challenges, what doesn’t stop is innovation. This winning formulation from Ashland, the rest of the finalists, as well as all the submissions are testament to the ingenuity of cosmetic science and reinforces its impact in product development and creating sought after and lasting brands,” said Giorgino Macalino, chairman, NYSCC.
