Leonard Lauder, chairman emeritus and former CEO of the Estée Lauder Companies, has written a memoir — and the book titled "The Company I Keep: My Life in Beauty" just began shipping.
We announced the news back in May when pre-orders began.
The book is "equal parts biography, business tome, philanthropy" reports state — and a tribute to Leonard Lauder's mom, Estée Lauder.
In one part, Leonard Lauder writes about his mom Estée: "...she observed what women liked, how they liked it, and how to sell it to them." CBS News obtained an excerpt, and part of it says "...my mother would write, 'The ladies came to buy, and smiled and bought more when I waited on them. I knew it. I felt it. I learned early that being a perfectionist and providing quality was the only way to do business.' Read the rest at CBS News.
All author proceeds from the book's sales will be donated to charity. Here's where to buy it.
