Berry Global Group Inc. has announced a capacity expansion of PET bottles and dispensing closures in order to meet the ongoing demand for hand sanitizer, soap, and cleaning packaging.
The expansion includes new two-ounce and eight-ounce oval PET bottles and a 410-finish flip-top closure. The widely recyclable bottles help provide ease of use for consumers with complementary closures for customers to create a complete package. Production will occur at Berry’s Quad Cities, Iowa; Princeton, Indiana; and Libertyville, Illinois sites.
“We selected these particular bottles, because they are two of the most popular sizes with the most popular shape,” said Vali Braselton, marketing manager of Berry’s Consumer Packaging North America division. “They are widely recyclable and easy to squeeze. Berry also supplies complementary closures to provide a complete package.”
Doubling Capacity and Reducing Lead Time
Berry added a new machine and new molds to their current single-stage stretch blown molding line in Quad Cities, doubling its capacity and providing lower than average lead time for their two-ounce oval bottle. By optimizing its current assets at the Princeton site, the company has also reduced lead times for two new eight-ounce PET bottles through its new mold installations. Adding capacity to the Libertyville site has reduced lead times for Berry’s popular 410-finish flip-top dispensing closure.
The new bottles that are now available for order include:
