Weleda is celebrating its 100th birthday this year—so now the brand's fans can visit its gardens, virtually.
The company has eight plant gardens around the world, which follow the guidelines of biodynamic agriculture, and they are "at the heart of its operations," the company says.
To mark its 100th year, Weleda is "opening its gardens to the world" via the digital platform, Weleda Open Garden. Users will find lots of shareable content, including special features such as 3D visualizations and augmented reality (AR).
Ensuring that its supply chains are both environmentally and socially sustainable, several hundred raw plant materials are cultivated in the company's gardens—and sourced from more than 50 long-term raw materials partnerships around the world.
With the global decline of biodiversity and around 10 million hectares of arable land lost every year, Weleda gardens are a hotspot of biodiversity with an abundance of animal and plant species. An estimated six billion organisms live in a single handful of biodynamic soil.
