Maybelline New York has recruited actress and producer Storm Reid as its newest global spokesmodel. Reid joins Gigi Hadid, and both will share her voices with the brand's global community.
Reid posted the photo above, with this caption:
"This face will be seen globally in 120 countries. Do you know how impactful that is? For little girls worldwide to be able to see a young woman of color represent them. Because if you don’t see yourself, how can you feel like you can succeed? SO. FREAKING. GRATEFUL"
And on Maybelline's Instagram post, Reid said:
“Maybelline has been in my life for a very long time and as a whole, on a macro level, it is a makeup brand, but it’s a brand that empowers women. I find that so amazing to be a part of their evolution and continue to inspire and impact women and all people through their product. I think it is just so beautiful.”
Reid is 17 years old, and will reprise her role as Gia in the second season of the HBO hit Euphoria. Her first lead role came in the all-star adaptation of A Wrinkle in Time in 2018.
Alongside her mother Robyn Simpson, Reid founded her own production company, A Seed & Wings, with the mission to create authentic storytelling. They debuted a new conversation series on Facebook Watch, Chop It Up, hosted by Storm.
Trisha Ayyagari, Global Brand President, Maybelline New York Worldwide. "Storm is a standout voice and changemaker. She is a deeply talented actress, a courageous champion of equality and has energy that lights up any room. I've always admired Storm and knew she would be a great addition to the Maybelline brand."
Together with Maybelline, Reid will be able to drive greater change on the causes that matter most. She will lend her voice to Maybelline's Brave Together initiative supporting anxiety and depression, and to the brand's ongoing diversity work.
She will be the face of a new innovation from Maybelline's Fit Me franchise, debuting this summer. Stay tuned.
