Love Beauty and Planet, a Unilever Brand, has announced plans to tackle sustainability throughout its global business, which spans 50+ countries across eight categories and continues to grow.
“Since our launch in 2018, we’ve been on a journey to help make you and the planet cleaner, greener and more beautiful. As a brand that means taking strong steps in our business and setting big audacious ambitions, while celebrating and championing all the small actions anyone can take for a more sustainable future,” said Sonika Malhotra, co-founder and global brand director at Love Beauty and Planet.
“We’re focused on making thoughtfully crafted beauty accessible to everyone, but we know there is a lot more work to do. We’re proud to continue driving benevolent innovation within our portfolio, championing Unilever’s climate commitments and pushing ourselves to go further where we can.”
Love Beauty and Planet has committed to:
100% Recyclable, Refillable or Compostable Products & Packaging
The company has committed that by 2030, 100% of its product and packaging portfolio will allow for people-and-planet friendly disposal, with all packaging made with 100% recycled materials. It will also continue to invest in recycling access and collection across all markets where it operates.
Love Beauty and Planet is debuting aluminum reusable shampoo and conditioner bottles at retail stores. Available now at Target (in store + online) in several ranges: Coconut Water & Mimosa Flower and Murumuru Butter & Rose.
Net Zero Emissions
The company also committed to net zero emissions by 2030 from sourcing to sale. Its primary focus will be on emissions reduction by taking a close look at its manufacturing, distribution, and packaging & ingredients. It will also be exploring additional nature-based solutions to protect and regenerate land, forests and oceans.
Update: Unilever recently joined the Zero100 platform, a community-based education and research platform created “to connect, inform and inspire a new generation of leaders inventing Zero Percent Carbon, 100% Digital supply chains.”
