L'Oréal USA is heading West—and today announced it is opening a second company headquarters early next year.
The new West Coast headquarters is near the Los Angeles airport, at 888 North Douglas in El Segundo, California.
The new location will bring together the teams from L'Oreal's California-based brands – NYX Professional Makeup, Urban Decay, and Pulp Riot, which are now in three different locations.
L'Oreal USA's main headquarters opened in June 2016 on the west side of Manhattan in the newly developed Hudson Yards neighborhood.
Stéphane Rinderknech, President & CEO of L'Oréal USA comments,
"We are fortunate to be in a position to invest in the expansion and future of our business. California has become a global stage for creativity, innovation, trends, diversity, and talent in the beauty industry – and, as a result, it has become a driving force of our business. We are excited at the prospect of our brand teams coming together to build the future of beauty in the Los Angeles area."
Note: In other recent news, L'Oreal prepares for new CEO Nicolas Hieronimus to take the reigns on May 1st.
A Park-Like Campus Designed for Wellness
The state-of-the-art park-like campus includes more than 25 acres on a former aerospace manufacturing site. It features 100,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor workspaces, designed to the highest sustainability standards. The space was developed by Los Angeles landlord Hackman Capital Partners with architecture led by interior design studio, Blitz.
Employee health and wellness factored into its design, L'Oreal says. The workspace layout includes collaboration spaces, an indoor-outdoor work concept with expansive outdoor patios, an exercise studio, and a company store. It also features lots of natural light from the building's 45-foot ceilings.
The new space reflects L'Oréal USA's new hybrid working model, enabling employees to move seamlessly between in-office and remote work.
In August 2020, L'Oréal USA announced a permanent hybrid work approach, allowing eligible employees to work 40% of their time (2 days per week) remotely each week.

In addition, the first-ever West Coast L'Oréal Professional Products Academy is opening on the site. The Academy will offer the professional beauty community a place to connect and learn.
