P&G has recruited six-time Olympic Gold Medalist Allyson Felix for Pantene's new ad campaign, "What's Your Legacy."
Felix is the most decorated US Olympian in women’s track and field history—and a frontrunner in the upcoming Olympics in Tokyo. The 2020 Summer Olympics were postponed due to the pandemic and will take place July 23rd through August 8th, 2021.
Felix stars in the campaign video below with her daughter Camryn, and it celebrates her legacy, the brand states. Felix said in a statement, “After having Camryn, defining my legacy became so much more than my accomplishments on the track—she inspired me to use my voice and make a difference for her and for the world..."
Felix spoke out about healthcare inequalities for women of color, who have a higher maternal mortality rate, after she suffered pregnancy complications with Camryn.
Jessica Ettelson, Pantene Brand Director, says, “Pantene celebrates everyone whose legacy is built on courage, strength, and advocating for what is right. We are so proud of the athlete, activist, and mother that Allyson is and are excited to share the legacy she has built for her daughter and the world, while inspiring others to build their own.”
Take a look at the video below, which shows Felix winning a Gold Medal in the Olympics and other accomplishments. It also shows Felix styling Camryn's hair, as she says, "My legacy's not just what I did, but why I did it. I did it for you."
Pantene's Gold Series collection provides strength and moisture for women with relaxed, natural, or transitioning hair. The line was created by Black PhD’s and scientists who understand the unique needs of textured hair. It includes Leave-On Detangling Milk, Hydrating Butter-Creme (shown above), and Intensive Hydrating Oil.
