It's the 100th birthday of the world's most iconic perfume—Chanel No. 5. And Chanel is celebrating with an Andy- Warhol style collection, and pop-art-inspired packaging that will surely be collector's items.
Chanel's Factory 5 is a new line with 17 limited edition products, each designed "to present the Chanel No. 5 fragrance in a new, unexpected way," the brand states. The scented products include bath salts in a kitchen canister, body oil in an oil tin, body lotion in a pouch, body cream in artists' paint tube, and shower gel in a paint can.
The packaging resembles everyday objects, but still oozes luxury—due to Chanel's instantly recognizable font and sleek white minimalist look, accented with black details.
How Chanel No. 5 began also inspired the new brand, and name. The fragrance was packaged in a factory bottle and called "No. 5," referring to the first samples that were tested.
Thomas du Pré de Saint Maur, Chanel’s head of global creative resources tells Harper's Bazaar, “By taking popular consumer items out of their context and dressing them up in the aesthetics of No5, we return to Chanel’s first creative gesture: that of transforming a functional object into a desirable luxury item.”

We can't wait to see what's next— the Factory 5 collection will launch on June 29th, according to Chanel's website.
