Too Faced, an Estee Lauder Co.'s brand, is helping animals—with the help of former lead singer of The Go-Go's Belinda Carlisle.
The new partners launched the limited edition Too Faced Gives Back x Belinda Carlisle lipstick—and it already sold out during a "secret" prelaunch on July 9th during an Instagram Live shopping event. It was restocked, just in time for its global launch yesterday.
The cruelty-free, vegan sheer cream lipstick is infused with sunflower wax and vitamin E. It's a petal nude shade, which is Carlisle's signature hue.
Jerrod Blandino, Too Faced co-founder and chief creative officer, states, "It was a dream to work with my dear friend, musical legend, and animal rights champion Belinda Carlisle to create this super cute, totally vegan lipstick in support of her incredible charity, Animal People Alliance, which helps save animals and educate people on animal rights."
Carlisle is donating her fee for the collaboration to the nonprofit Animal People Alliance, which she co-founded in 2014. It helps animals in need in Kolkata, India, and Chiang Rai, Thailand.
And it's sort of a "comeback" year for the iconic pop star—Carlisle will be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and stars in a new documentary about The Go-Gos by Alison Ellwood.
Packaging Inspired by Jerrod & Jeremy's Chihuahua
The Too Faced Gives Back x Belinda Carlisle lipstick features cute packaging. The gold case is printed with Carlisle's name and includes her signature on the bottom. The cap—and bullet—are both decorated with cartoon-like images of the Too Faced "official" pup Clover. Blandino and co-founder Jeremy Johnson are Clover's 'dads'—and the pup inspired an entire collection. (A family photo is shown above, on the left.)
Clover's image inspired the "Glowver" Highlighter, "Sunpuppy" Bronzer, the Clover Eyeshadow Palette—and more. There's even a Clover Plush Puppy.
Too Faced Gives Back—A Partnership with Rescued Pets Movement
Too Faced is also partnering with Rescued Pets Movement (RPM), a nonprofit organization that provides a second chance for thousands of homeless pets each year. RPM rescues pets, providing rehabilitation and transport to reputable rescue partners across the US, in communities with a demand for adoptable pets. For the next six months, Too Faced shoppers at TooFaced.com will see a message at checkout asking to add a donation to the organization.
Cindy Perini, co–founder and CEO of Rescued Pets Movement says, "We are extremely appreciative to partner with Too Faced. To be able to raise much needed funds, alongside the chance to increase overall awareness of our unique rescue transport program is really incredible."
