Olaplex, owned by Advent International, has announced it has publicly filed a registration statement on Form S-1 with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) relating to a proposed initial public offering of its common stock.
Olaplex intends to list its common stock on the Nasdaq Global Select Market under the ticker symbol “OLPX.” Advent will continue to control the company after the filing, and is targetting a valuation of $1.5 billion.
Olaplex is number 5 on Cosmetify's top beauty brands in the US, ranked by search volume.
Bloomberg reports that sales are climbing this year compared to 2020, reporting a profit of $95 million on net sales of $270 million for the first six months of 2021. Olaplex once sued L'Oreal over patent infringement.
Advent International also owns Bare Minerals, Buxom Cosmetics, and Laura Mercier, after making a deal with Shiseido this month.
